Torani and the Holidays!

As a member of SheSpeaks, I get perks, like trying new things!   I was lucky to be chosen to try Torani Syrups.  I tried Gingerbread and Hazelnut.  They come in sugar free and regular.

I have to tell you we loved them!  Not only do they put a PIZAZZ in your coffee, but we tried it in many other things.  Eggnog with Gingerbread, can I say let's ring in the holidays!    Hazelnut and Gingerbread added to my sugar cookies for a little different flavor, oh yes!    And of course hot chocolate, I love hot chocolate, so I thought, hmmm, could it, would it, should I and yes I did add some to my hot chocolate and they both were very good!

Fall is here and the weather has cooled off.  The fall colors are beautiful!  

I received a couple of things in the mail to try out.  Post It Notes sent me some of their post it note tape, its pretty cool stuff!  I love how handy it is to have a roll of post it note tape where ever I need it.

Then I received a box of Kleenex Hand Towels.  I have to admit, I LIKE them!   Its nice not to have a dirty grubby towel to dry my hands on; instead I just grab a clean hand towel.

Review - Death of a Schoolgirl

Death of a Schoolgirl by Joanna Campbell Slan

Being a fan of Joanna Campbell Slan’s Kiki Lowenstein mysteries, I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to review Death of a Schoolgirl before it is released.


I wasn’t sure what to expect, since this book was from a different time then the Kiki Lowenstein mysteries.  I was drawn in to the book immediately.  As I read the book, I began to feel I knew the characters and could relate to them.  The lengths Jane Eyre Rochester went to, in order to help not only her husband’s ward Adele, but the other girls at the boarding school was quite impressive.  Jane was quite the determined detective.  Along the way she also discovered that good friends could be found in unlikely places.  I found myself not wanting the book to end and when it did, hoping another would be in the works.

Spot-a very special dog

We had to have our wonderful little boy, Spot, put to sleep on July 17th.  He was the best dog anyone could ask for.  I know it was for the best, he isn't in pain anymore.  It doesn't make it any easier though.  He was like one of our kids.   RIP my little Spot!

Surprise from UPS

UPS left this rather large box for me today!  What could it be?!

Once I opened it, I found a prize that I won from Disney Family Movies Trivia Tuesday.  They sent me an
email asking for my mailing info, but I had no idea what I won.  Here it is and it is so awesome!  It's made by OGIO and has Cars 2 logo on it.  

Review Private Selection Brand Foods

I am a BzzAgent and I was fortunate to be able to review some of Kroger's Private Selection Brand Foods.

I have to be honest, I am picky about the food I eat.  Just because something is a good deal or easy to put on the table, does not convince me its worth buying.

We tried a few things from the Private Selection Brand; Ice Cream, Chips, Pie, Angus Burger and all were fantastic.   The ice cream was rich and creamy and the flavor was amazing.
The pie tasted like I just pulled it out of the oven.  Everything was flavorful and fresh tasting.   I will definitely buy this brand again.   I can't wait to try some of the other flavors!

Way to go Kroger!

Review Dry Idea & a chance to win!

I have used Secret Solid Powder Fresh for years.  I was leary about this roll on product, the one thing that was the same of my normal deodorant was the scent!

When I put it on, I was concerned since it was a roll on, it would stay damp and possibly even sticky.  It has been very hot and humid here and I did not want to get somewhere and find my new deodorant is not working.  But I wanted to give it an honest try.

I am happy to tell you it works GREAT!   I don't have any complaints.  It goes on smoothly, dries nicely and the best part it works!  I have not had any embarrassing problems with sweating or anything.  I would definitely recommend Dry Idea Advanced Dry and will make sure its on my shopping list in the future.

Happy 10 year anniversary!

June 11th Alec and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary.  We grilled a yummy meal of  Tbone Steaks, Taters, Bacon Wrapped Cabbage and had Champagne.   Just enjoyed an evening at home.

Colorado...

We love Colorado and visit as often as we can.   Here are some photos from a recent trip.   As you can see, the hard water pretty much messed with my hair, ha!   It started looking pretty wicked!  Alec didn't seem to have that problem, guessing it was due to his 'lack' of hair.   :)

Things have been busy around here.  I did finish up an ATC swap and put those in the mail yesterday.
It was in the 90's here yesterday and forecasting the same for today.   Then 60 by the weekend.  The weather can't make up its mind this year.  I have layout I am hoping to work on this week, its for a challenge.

A week or two ago, my husband and I stopped in Lucas KS at Brant's Meat Market.  The town has a lot of interesting things in it.  It was kind of rainy and stormy that day, but here a few pictures I took.

Review of Ready, Scrap, Shoot (A Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-N-Craft Mystery) by Joanna Campbell Slan

I was the lucky winner on Joanna Campbell Slan’s Facebook page of her book that is due out April 8, 2012. 

I have read all of the previous Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-N-Craft Mysteries and had been impatiently waiting to read this new one, I was beyond excited that I won a copy before it was available to buy!  

Joanna’s new book did not disappoint me.  I couldn’t wait to turn the page and find out what happens.  The characters are colorful and come to life on the pages.  Joanna makes it easy to become immersed in the lives of the characters and relate to what is happening in their lives.   Joanna also includes scrapbook tips and recipes in the books.  

I won’t give any details to the book, as I don’t want to ruin it for you.  But I highly recommend this book.  And if you haven’t read the previous ones, you should start there; it will give you a good insight to who the characters are.

Spring Scrapaganza - 2012

The Spring Scrapaganza Scrapbook Crop was March 10th and I had a fantastic turnout!   There were several new people along with many of the regulars.   We had 2 vendors, Rebecca with Creative Memories and Scrappy Days from Russell.  Another scrapaganza is scheduled for Saturday, September 8th, 2012.

The sun is shining and its nicer out today!   I have a crop coming up on March 10th - I have goody bags and prizes I need to get ready.  Plus I need to get in my scrapbook room and get it back in order.
