Sunday

It's gloomy and rainy today, makes me want to take a nap! I am trying to get motivated to go to my scrappy room and have some fun, but I can't seem to get myself moving that way. I did apply for a job I would have liked to have had, I think it would have been fun! You could do it from home, with a little travel. I didn't make it to the next round, bummer. But at least I tried! Of course, I am still planning to win the lottery!

Checking in

Thought I would give a little update of what my last week was like.

We had Easter here, some of my family from Nebraska came. We had lots of good food and fun. We had an Easter Egg Hunt for everyone, my niece still hasn't found one of hers!

We were in Wichita most of the week for a water conference. They have a bbq/carnival night on Tuesday, that was fun. Palm readers, games, lots of stuff. We got back Thursday around 530 and then off to take my sister back home to Nebraska. That was a long day, too many hours in the car! I did go to a scrappy store in Wichita and found a few things, of course, I can always find something!

I have more pictures and stuff I need to get uploaded on here, but I don't seem to have enough hours in a day lately.

Sick

I was sick since Sunday. Last night was the first night I could eat and boy was I hungry! I've lost 9 lbs, now if I could keep it off. But you know how it goes, lose it too fast and gain that and more back! I hope not though. I would like to lose more!
The weather has been pretty nice, but today its chilly and a chance of rain.
I did get 34 6x6 recipes done for a swap this week. And I am hoping to work on some
ATC tonight. They are of mermaids, I have some ideas floating around in my head, I hope they look good on when I make them!

Flaws...

An elderly Chinese woman had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which she carried across her neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walks from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the woman bringing home only one and a half pots of water. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the woman one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house."

The old woman smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side?" "That's because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them."

"For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.

So, to all of my crackpot friends, have a great day and remember to smell the flowers on your side of the path!

Scrappy Fundraiser

The fundraiser went well...I had 10 new ones this time! Everyone had a great time and was a success. I will plan another one in September. It's amazing, I tried this a few years ago because I love scrapbooking and it turned in to one of the favorite fundraisers I do for the fire department.

Busy, busy, busy

Things have been so busy. I have been getting ready for the Scrapbook Crop Fundraiser which is this Saturday. Then we had a grant meeting that came up and that was last night, so I cooked sloppy joes & baked beans - we had about 120 show up, so that was a good turnout. Now the wait to see if we get the grant.
MIL is still in the hospital, fil fell on Main street yesterday, but is home now and ok. I still have to finish up a few things for the scrapbook fundraiser and then once I am through with that, its put everything back where it belongs and then I can try to get back to a little normal, at least I hope!
Alec has been sick lately, he can't seem to shake this cold.
